The membership of the East Hillsborough Historical Society meets annually to review the members’ goals and accomplishments and for the conduct of the business of election of the Board of Directors of the Society who are tasked with carrying out the operational business of the Society. The Board of Directors includes: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and seven directors. The EHHS is a membership based organization and accepts both financial and artifact donations.More Info. →
The E.H.H.S. sponsors workshops and classes with instruction by local area artists and craftsmen. Classes are open to both adults and children and range from silk scarf design, stained glass, fiber arts, basketery, hat embellishment, paper crafts, water colors and acrylics. Arts education partnerships and collaborations are ventures with the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, the East Hillsborough Art Guild, the Lakeland Art Guild and the Plant City Arts Council.View Calendar →
The Annual Pioneer Heritage Day (Event) is designated for the celebration and honor of the historical and cultural heritage of Plant City and the East Hillsborough County area. It is open to the public, and public participation is encouraged and promoted. Heritage craft vendors display and demonstrate crafts from yesteryear. The 1914 museums are open for the public to visit and reminisce. Enjoy the hayride, live entertainment, games and a full day of good old fashioned fun.Become A Vendor →
The EHHS’s annual major fundraiser is the operation of a strawberry shortcake booth at the Florida Strawberry Festivals’ eleven day fair. Volunteers stem and prepare fresh strawberries daily at the 1914. A crew of volunteers dishes up savory shortcake to order for the guests at the shortcake booth on the grounds of the Florida Strawberry Festival. The shortcake can be made to order on yellow cake or biscuit with sweet or unsweetened berries topped with fresh whipped cream. All you need is a BERRY BIG appetite!Volunteer →
