Miss Charlotte Rosenberg of Plant City was crowned queen of East Hillsborough’s first annual strawberry festival at the opening ceremonies on Wednesday, March 12, 1930. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rosenberg of Plant City, she was a member of the senior class at Plant City High School. Her attendants were Miss Irvine Wilder, Miss Nettie Simmons, Miss Alice Sly, Miss Kathryn Dudley, and Miss Alice Maxey. The heralds were Elizabeth Carey, Marion Herring, Eugenia Sanchez, and Elizabeth Hull. The little pages were Helen Spear, Catherine Fletcher, Katherine Andrews, and Virginia Dennison. Elizabeth Carey was crowned queen in 1932 and Catherine Fletcher was crowned queen in 1940. A photo collage of the queen royalty and souvenir booklets from the annual pageants compliment the gowns, crowns and memorabilia donated by members of the royalty crew.
